The Senate will vote this afternoon on the highway bill, including a proposal to use Social Security cuts to pay for it, and they need to hear from you immediately!
Please, call the U.S. Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask to be connected to your Senators' offices. Tell them to reject a highway bill that is funded through cuts to Social Security benefits.
What Congress wants to do is match names on arrest warrants with Social Security beneficiaries, and then cut off the Social Security benefits to those who match. This overly broad practice led to many innocent people arbitrarily finding their benefits cut off – and it would do so again.
